The successful sales representative will be an individual with an affinity for working with customers and function with a high level of independence. Strong communication skills are required, as is previous direct sales experience, preferably in the pre-engineered steel building industry.
The primary duties of a Pioneer Steel sales rep include the following:
- To respond to potential customer enquiries
- To present the features and benefits of our buildings using professional direct sales skills
- To address any of the customer's questions or concerns at the time of sale, and to overcome customer objections that may arise
- To demonstrate a proven success in closing sales, and have a strong desire to excel financially
Additionally, a sales representative with a Pioneer Steel dealership must maintain a thorough knowledge of the product line, as well as follow up on sales leads, respond to requests for estimates, and build their territory. The representative is required to spend time both maintaining their existing customer relationships and establishing a strong customer referral base. Moreover, sales representatives have several duties beyond selling. They also analyze sales statistics such as closing percentages and gross profit margins. They study literature about new and existing products and monitor the sales, prices, and products of their competitors.
